Kershaw Wood is identified as a welcoming and friendly independent special school that supports pupils with a range of needs, particularly in relation to autism and emotional difficulties. While the school has established a caring community and has high expectations for student achievement, it currently requires improvement in the quality of education provided. Notable strengths include effective pastoral care and the prioritization of reading, with pupils benefiting from individual support to enhance their literacy skills. Although many positive relationships exist, the curriculum lacks clarity in some subjects, impacting students' ability to retain key knowledge.
