• Children in the early years get a successful start and are very well prepared for Year 1.
• Inclusion is strong, with precise support plans and appropriate use of additional funding.
• Personal development and wellbeing provision is a strength, offering extensive enrichment, trips and career-related experiences.
• Pupils feel safe and develop confidence and resilience through a wide range of experiences.

Areas for Improvement

• Assessment of pupils' work in books is not always effective in helping pupils improve.
• Teachers do not consistently use assessment information to adapt future learning, so work is sometimes not demanding enough.
• Early years staff sometimes do not use questioning effectively to deepen children's knowledge.
• Some pupils with SEND do not complete activities independently when they are able to do so.
• Some pupils struggle to recall key knowledge about British values, cultures and religions.
• Some staff do not feel that leaders and governors fully consider their workload and wellbeing.
• Governors need to sharpen their focus through further evidence gathering to challenge leaders more effectively.
• Professional development is not yet fully embedded in ensuring all staff have high-quality interactions with pupils.
