Darvell School is performing well overall, with an overall effectiveness rating of 'Good'. The school has established a positive and nurturing environment where pupils thrive academically and personally. Pupils demonstrate exemplary behaviour and attitudes, engaging enthusiastically in their learning and activities. High expectations from staff and a well-implemented curriculum lead to good progress in reading and mathematics, while the school’s strong emphasis on personal development is commendable. Parents are highly satisfied with the support provided for their children, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Despite these strengths, the school acknowledges the need to further strengthen certain areas of the curriculum to fully align with its high aspirations for pupil achievement. Recent changes in some subjects have not yet been embedded, and the school is focused on ensuring these new approaches impact pupils’ learning positively over time. Nonetheless, the arrangements for safeguarding are effective, and the leadership demonstrates good oversight and support for improvement.
