The Cheadle Academy now also houses a sixth form college and hosts its own fully licensed high school radio station, created by students and staff.

Participation in drama and music productions is an important aspect of the school, with recent examples like "Back to the 80s" and "Grease." The Academy fosters school productions and connects with the local community through its high school radio station, which is popular online and encourages interaction via text message.
