Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School (QEGS) is a non-selective academy located in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England, catering to students aged 11-18. Established in 1585, QEGS is steeped in history as one of the oldest schools in the United Kingdom. The main school and sixth form have frequently ranked among the top institutions nationally. In its academic capacity, QEGS is home to approximately 1,400 students and is divided into the Houses of Cokayne, Boothby, Hull, and Spalden to promote inclusivity and student leadership.

The school's curriculum is diverse, with science taught in a dedicated science corridor adjacent to the original "Old Building" which dates back to 1585. In 1909, QEGS moved to its current site on The Green Road, thereby encompassing modern educational structures, including a Technology Block added in 2006 and further extension in 2010. QEGS converted to Academy Status in 2011 and serves as an Independent State School, operating with full financial autonomy while upholding its Christian religious character. The school's motto is "En bon espoyr," which translates to "In Good Spirit," evidencing their mission for excellence for all students.

In October 2008, Ofsted acknowledged QEGS as "good" or "outstanding" in all sections. However, in 2013, Ofsted commented that QEGS "requires improvement" in 3 of the 4 categories. Despite this, the school's consistent performance has garnered recognition, and the school continues to evolve and improve, striving for "excellence for all" for its students.
