Dodworth St John the Baptist CofE Primary Academy is currently in a state of transition and requires improvement across all inspected areas. The school has recently changed leadership and is part of St Mary's Academy Trust, which oversees its operations. Leaders have begun to implement new policies and curriculum changes, aimed at enhancing students' learning experiences and behavior management. While these efforts are starting to show positive effects, there remain inconsistencies in behavioral expectations among staff and the implementation of the new phonics curriculum is still very much in its infancy. The previous inspection in May 2022 rated the school inadequate, prompting the recent leadership changes. Though improvements are being made, especially in terms of curriculum and student attitudes towards learning, challenges persist in assessing students' understanding and maintaining consistent behavior management across the school. The commitment of the new leadership team to drive improvement is evident, but further work is necessary to ensure all children, particularly those with additional needs, receive the support they require to excel.
