Brixington Primary Academy has made significant progress since its previous inspection, moving from a grade of 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good' in all areas evaluated. The school's values, emphasizing friendship, respect, honesty, and sportsmanship, are well ingrained in the pupils' learning experiences, contributing to a calm and purposeful atmosphere. Staff are ambitious for their pupils and build strong relationships, which helps create a supportive and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe and valued. The curriculum is ambitious, particularly in supporting disadvantaged and SEND pupils, and is underpinned by a strong focus on reading and early years education. Despite these strengths, the school faces challenges in clearly identifying the key knowledge that pupils should learn in some foundation subjects, which hampers the effective implementation of the curriculum. Additionally, the personal development program is variable in quality, leaving some pupils unclear about their learning in certain areas. Leaders are aware of these issues and are actively working on improvements to ensure all students benefit fully from their educational experiences.
