Omnia Foundation is a small specialist SEMH school where all pupils have significant barriers to learning and nearly all have an education, health and care plan. At this standard inspection, the school was judged to be meeting the expected standard across achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. Safeguarding standards are met, and all independent school standards are met. This is a school with a new headteacher since the previous inspection, run by Omnia Education Ltd as the only school in the organisation. The school's main strengths lie in the way staff build positive relationships and use detailed knowledge of pupils' needs to help them overcome very low starting points and long periods out of education. Pupils make progress in early reading, writing and mathematics, attendance and behaviour improve over time, and pupils are well supported through personalised learning, pastoral care, therapeutic work and strong family engagement. Personal development is a clear priority, with a well-planned PSHE/RSE curriculum, outdoor learning, careers guidance and preparation for adulthood. Leadership, governance and staff well-being are also strengths. The main areas for further work are in the curriculum and in leadership use of data. Some subjects do not yet have clearly defined end points or precise sequencing, so pupils do not learn as well in those areas as they do elsewhere. Some staff subject knowledge is not consistently secure, and leaders need to make better use of whole-school analysis to identify wider patterns and priorities. Many pupils also remain persistently absent, although the report notes notable improvements in attendance over time.

Strengths
- Staff help pupils overcome significant barriers and make progress from very low starting points.
- Pupils typically secure and apply early reading, writing and mathematics knowledge.
- Attendance, engagement, conduct and confidence improve over time.
- Pupils behave well; bullying and discriminatory behaviour are rare and staff respond quickly.
- The school identifies SEND and wider needs accurately and uses personalised learning intentions well.
- Targeted pastoral, therapeutic and trauma-informed support helps pupils re-engage with education.
- Personal development, PSHE/RSE, outdoor learning and careers education prepare pupils well for adulthood.
- Leadership, governance and proprietor oversight are effective, with a clear ambition and strong staff well-being.
- Safeguarding standards are met, with an open culture in which safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
- Staff work closely with families and other professionals to remove barriers to learning.
Areas for Improvement
- Curriculum end points and sequencing are not consistently well defined across all subjects.
- Pupils do not learn as well in subjects where knowledge and skills are less precisely sequenced.
- Some staff subject knowledge is not secure enough in some subjects to implement the curriculum consistently well.
- Leaders do not yet make enough use of whole-school analysis to identify wider patterns and priorities precisely.
- Many pupils remain persistently absent, although attendance has improved notably over time.
In 2025–26, 4.2% of pupils at Omnia Foundation were on SEN support (nationally 18.4%) and 95.8% had an education, health and care (EHC) plan (nationally 7.9%).
Source: Department for Education, Special educational needs in England (the 2025–26 school census). SEN support is extra help in school without an EHC plan. National figures are for all state-funded independent school schools. Counts are as published, with small numbers not hidden.
