Kings Worthy Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive primary where pupils are happy, behave extremely well and attend regularly. Inspectors found strong practice across attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. Safeguarding standards are met, and pupils feel safe and well supported. Achievement is the area with the clearest scope for further development. National test outcomes are improving and are often above national averages, but pupils do not yet consistently demonstrate deep understanding and secure recall across some foundation subjects. Disadvantaged pupils’ outcomes are also less secure in some measures, and leaders’ next step is to embed oracy strategies further so that all pupils, particularly disadvantaged pupils, achieve consistently well. The school is larger than average, with below-average proportions of pupils eligible for free school meals and pupils with special educational needs. It is located in an area of well-below-average deprivation and uses five alternative provisions, including three that are unregistered.
