St Mildred's Primary Infant School is a highly inclusive and welcoming school where pupils thrive. Inspectors found strong standards in attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, and personal development and wellbeing. Pupils behave consistently well, attend above national averages, benefit from a broad curriculum with a strong focus on communication, language and reading, and receive effective support for special educational needs and/or disabilities. Safeguarding standards are met. Achievement, early years and leadership and governance were graded at the expected standard. Children get off to an excellent start in Reception and typically reach the good level of development, but some pupils with barriers to learning, including disadvantaged pupils, do not always receive precise enough support to catch up rapidly, particularly by the end of Key Stage 1. Leaders are taking action in mathematics and writing, and recent work is showing positive results. The school is part of the Thanet Endeavour Learning Trust. Leaders and governors have accurate oversight of the school's work and staff are overwhelmingly proud to work there, but development priorities are not always sharply focused on improving outcomes for pupils with low starting points. Next steps focus on embedding adaptive practices so these pupils catch up rapidly and are ready for the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
