Newton-on-Trent Church of England Primary School is performing well, with an overall effectiveness rated as good and early years provision rated as outstanding. The school fosters a positive environment where pupils are encouraged to embody key values such as respect and kindness. Relationships between staff and students are strong, contributing to a happy and cooperative atmosphere. The curriculum is well-planned, aiding in the overall development of pupils, although certain subjects require further implementation and assessment to fully benefit student learning. While the phonics program is effective and helps children become fluent readers, the overarching reading curriculum lacks a clear sequence beyond phonics, which the school aims to address.
