Green Hammerton Church of England Primary School is a happy, nurturing and inclusive school where pupils' behaviour, personal development and pastoral care are strong. Pupils form positive relationships, show empathy and respect, attend well and contribute to school and community life. Early years provision is a particular strength, and leaders have introduced well-designed curriculums with rigorous identification of pupils' needs. Safeguarding arrangements are effective. However, the quality of education requires improvement. The inspection took place amid significant leadership and staffing change: the current executive headteacher was appointed in January 2024 and is the third head since 2019, and most staff were not at the school at the last inspection. This was also the school's first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders and governors are focused on pupils' best interests and are managing workload and well-being while embedding improvements.
