GCSE results are generally positive, with disadvantaged pupils' outcomes improving and broadly in line with national averages, but the school's disadvantage gap remains wide, particularly in English and maths and Progress 8. The school is a single academy trust with a long-serving headteacher and a trust board that provides effective challenge and support. The proportion of pupils with education, health and care plans is well above average, and the school serves a relatively advantaged catchment, with fewer pupils eligible for free school meals than nationally. Safeguarding arrangements are met, and pupils feel safe and well supported.
