St Michael's Easthampstead Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School is a 201-pupil primary in Bracknell Forest. Following its October 2024 graded inspection, the school was judged good in quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision; under the current framework, no overall effectiveness grade is given. Pupils are positive and focused, behaviour expectations are clear and applied consistently, and the school has a caring ethos, including older pupils acting as buddies for children in the early years. Reading is central to the school's improvement work, with consistent phonics support helping weaker readers and pupils with SEND. Pupils with SEND are well supported and achieve well, attendance work is highly effective, and personal development is strong, including opportunities for contemplation, discussion of current affairs and pupil leadership roles. Leaders and governors have made high-impact changes, created an open culture with staff and parents, and safeguarding arrangements are effective. The main areas for improvement concern the curriculum and assessment. Some older key stage 2 pupils have gaps in foundation subjects because weaknesses in previous curriculums have not been fully addressed, which can make tasks harder to access. In addition, teachers in some subjects are not consistently rigorous in checking pupils' understanding or addressing misconceptions, so learning is not always as secure as it could be. The school should close older pupils' gaps as the new foundation subject curriculum embeds and ensure all staff have the expertise to check for and address misconceptions during learning.

Admissions: local authority offers data from the Department for Education. A school is oversubscribed when at least 5% of the families who put it first were not offered a place, and undersubscribed when everyone who put it first got in but 10% or more of its places were unfilled in the Department's school capacity survey (the latest survey is used for entry years it does not cover). Places: Department for Education, School capacity, from local authorities' annual survey as at 1 May. Each year is the one the school year ends in (2025 is 2024–25); the survey was not run in 2020. Places include sixth form places. Forecasts are the local authority's own for the school's planning area, an area it uses to plan places that is not the school's catchment area. The forecast starts from a head count in 2025; the dashed line is the Department's estimate of places in that area, including those the authority has firm plans for. Planned places are cumulative, and only those with firm plans are counted.

Turnover is the share of a year's teachers (full-time equivalent) who were not at the school the following year, whether they moved to another school or left state-funded teaching. Turnover and sickness figures run one year behind the ratios. Sick leave is the share of teachers who took at least one day in the year, so it swings widely at small schools, where a few teachers can make it 0% or 100%.
