Established in 1607 and converted to an academy in the 21st century, the school educates both boys and girls aged 11 to 18, with about 1,640 students and 84 teachers. As a specialist language college, Prince Henry's offers Spanish, French, German, Chinese, and Italian courses.
The school occupies a historic building with an Edwardian school house and has undergone several additions, including a new science block added in May 2008. Prince Henry's earned its place as the third highest in GCSE results in Leeds in 2016, as well as being the best state school in Leeds for A Level results that same year.
