New Road Primary & Nursery School has shown significant improvement since its last inspection, particularly in creating an ambitious curriculum tailored to the needs of all pupils. Leaders have effectively addressed past issues related to attendance, resulting in better attendance rates and improved behaviour among students, fostering a positive learning environment. However, despite these gains, the school still faces challenges regarding the achievement of pupils, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with performance not yet reflecting national averages. Overall, while the school meets expected standards, there is continued work needed to fully embed teaching strategies and further raise the attainment of all pupils.
