The Hemel Hempstead School, located at Heath Lane, HP1 1TX, is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form for students aged 11 to 18. Founded as the Hemel Hempstead Grammar School back in 1931, it has since become part of the Hertfordshire school system and most recently a part of the Scholars' Education Trust as an academy from April 2023. The school was awarded the Emotional Mental Wellbeing in Schools Mark and has been recognized as having a Good Overall Effectiveness according to the inspection conducted on March 17, 2011. The school's campus is home to 1,259 students as of March 2023, served by a dedicated staff and led by Headteacher Mr. Neil Hassell, NPQH FCCT. The school also features consistent recognition for its tradition of excellence in history with the notable 90th anniversary event in 2021.
