Fryern Junior School continues to exhibit good performance, as highlighted in its recent inspection report. The school fosters a nurturing environment that emphasizes the importance of personal and social development alongside academic achievement. Pupils demonstrate impressive attitudes towards learning, supported by a well-designed curriculum that helps them to not only gain knowledge but also to develop valuable life skills through activities outside the classroom. The school's strong focus on reading has led to pupils becoming competent and confident readers, with effective support for those requiring additional help. Despite these strengths, some areas of improvement have been identified. While the school has received praise for its leadership and the progress made in enhancing support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), there are concerns regarding the clarity of learning objectives in foundation subjects and consistency in teaching mathematics. Addressing these issues will be crucial for ensuring that all pupils can effectively retain and recall important information over time. This inspection marks the first routine evaluation since the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing the school to contextualize the ongoing challenges it faces.
