Herne Junior School continues to perform well, maintaining its status as a good school since its last inspection in 2017. Pupils are well supported and feel safe, with strong relationships between staff and students promoting a nurturing environment. The curriculum is ambitious, and while pupils achieve well in a variety of subjects, there are areas for improvement, particularly in ensuring consistently high expectations and deeper understanding across the curriculum, especially for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The school community feels positive about the support from staff and the opportunities available to pupils, contributing to their overall development as confident individuals.
