Hose Church of England Primary School is a small, inclusive primary where pupils are described as flourishing. Inspectors found the school performing strongly overall: the curriculum is ambitious and well sequenced, reading is a central priority, pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported, and children in the early years thrive. Behaviour is exemplary, attendance is high, and personal development is exceptionally strong, with character education and a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Leadership, governance and staff development are also notable strengths. The school is a voluntary controlled Church of England primary in the Diocese of Leicester with 47 pupils, and it was previously judged to require improvement. This graded inspection did not produce an overall effectiveness grade. The main area for improvement is the school’s relatively new assessment system, which is not yet fully embedded; as a result, some gaps in pupils’ knowledge are not identified or addressed quickly enough. Safeguarding arrangements are effective.
