Woodstock Church of England Primary School is performing exceptionally well across all judged areas. Inspectors found the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision to be outstanding. This was the school’s first routine inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic and its first section 5 inspection since 2015, as it had previously been exempt after an outstanding judgement. Under current arrangements, no overall effectiveness grade is awarded. The school’s inclusive ‘let your light shine’ vision is deeply embedded, and pupils achieve highly, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The curriculum is highly ambitious and bespoke, with strong vocabulary, oracy and opportunities to revisit prior learning. Reading and phonics are taught expertly, early years provision gives children an excellent start, and behaviour and attendance are exceptional. Pupils benefit from strong personal development, rich experiences and a warm, family-like community, while leaders and governors are highly ambitious and staff feel well supported. Safeguarding is effective, and no significant weaknesses were identified.
