Islamic Tarbiyyah Preparatory School

This was an unannounced emergency inspection commissioned by the Department for Education because of concerns raised about safeguarding. Inspectors checked the school’s compliance with the independent school standards relating to leadership and management, welfare, health and safety, and provision of information. The school meets all of the standards checked during this inspection. The report is positive overall. Safeguarding has a clear, embedded culture, with the proprietor, leaders and staff all understanding their roles. Training is up to date, policies are published, concerns are dealt with promptly, and record-keeping is clear and detailed. Pupils report feeling safe and enjoy school, and they know how to stay safe online. Health and safety oversight is appropriate, with daily and scheduled checks, secure premises and careful supervision across the school’s two sites. Risk assessment and accessibility arrangements also meet requirements. The school is an Islamic faith primary for boys and girls, registered for 225 pupils aged 3 to 11, with 140 full-time pupils of compulsory school age on roll at the time of the inspection. There were no nursery-age children on roll, though the school has a Reception cohort. No concerns or required actions were identified in this inspection; the standards checked continue to be met.
