This standard inspection found that the school meets all independent school standards, with safeguarding standards met, and that it is performing well overall. The school's highly effective approach to attendance and behaviour is a notable strength; most pupils join after long periods of disrupted education, and the school's detailed checks and key worker support help attendance improve dramatically. Pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning are excellent, and classrooms are calm, safe and purposeful. Across the quality of education, achievement, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing, the school reaches the expected standard. Pupils make positive progress from their individual starting points, and the curriculum is broad, ambitious and well sequenced. Staff are well trained and supported, and leaders have a secure understanding of the school's priorities. Parents and carers are positive about the school, and pupils are well prepared for their next steps. Leaders are committed to ongoing improvement. Two areas for further development are identified: refining assessment systems so that gaps in pupils' foundational writing skills are addressed with greater precision and consistency, and continuing to strengthen staff's pedagogical expertise so that teaching is of a consistent high quality across all areas of the school.
