Wellacre Technology Academy, situated in Flixton, Greater Manchester, is an 11-16 boys secondary school with academy status, having been established on April 25, 1955, under the name Urmston Wellacre County Secondary School. Over the years, the school transitioned to an academy and was subsequently renamed to Wellacre Technology Academy. With just over 600 enrolled students (in 2019), the school has a capacity of 1,443. Wellacre has been recognized for its progressive educational approach, with a focus on technology education.

In 2005, the academy invested nearly £1 million in new facilities, including ICT suites, a language laboratory, and a floodlit all-weather pitch. In December 2006, it was designated a Technology College, earning the status of the first and only such single-sex school in England. The school has a comprehensive house system with colored houses, and in 2011, it officially changed its name to conclude with the suffix of "Technology Academy."

Wellacre closed its sixth form in July 2017 due to insufficient student enrollment to ensure financial sustainability, and it has become known for having more solar panels installed than any other school in Great Britain. The school has also participated in the Afri Twin initiative, aiming to nurture relationships between British and South African schools.
