Leigh UTC Dartford is a highly effective school that has improved further since its last inspection. Inspectors found exceptional leadership and governance, with very high ambitions, strong trust and governance oversight, and excellent support for staff. The sixth form is also exceptional: students are inspirational role models, mentor younger pupils, follow a highly ambitious curriculum, and move on to impressive destinations in higher education, apprenticeships or employment. Across the rest of the school, achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, and personal development are all strong. Pupils typically start below average but make rapid progress to reach national averages by the end of Year 11, and pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils are well supported. Behaviour is excellent, safeguarding is met, and pupils benefit from rich personal development, careers education and enrichment opportunities. The main next step is to continue raising overall attendance so that all pupils fully benefit from the school's excellent provision.
