St James' Catholic High School continues to demonstrate good performance as a caring and inclusive institution where pupils feel safe and supported. The school fosters a respectful environment, and students display good behavior which contributes positively to their learning experience. Although the school curriculum is generally well-structured with a range of qualifications offered, there are identified gaps in the depth of national curriculum subjects taught to Year 9 pupils. Leaders are aware and actively addressing these gaps to ensure a more balanced curriculum in the future.

- English
- Maths
- 3 subjects from qualifications that count towards the English Baccalaureate (EBacc), like sciences, language and history
