St James' Catholic High School, located at Great Strand, NW9 5PE in Colindale, Barnet, is a voluntary aided mixed-sex school catering to students aged 11 to 18. Founded by the Dominican sisters in 1934, it was originally established in response to the local need for Catholic secondary education to families residing in north-west London. Initially, the school was a non-selective, mixed setting, and in 1949 it absorbed St. Thomas' Independent School in Stanmore. Today, St James' is a specialist school in science and sports and operates on a single site after reuniting in 1997.

The school's history is marked by notable figures such as Sr Mary Catherine Walsh, who served from 1934 to 1969, and Mrs. Niamh Arnull, the former headteacher. Other notable headteachers include Sr Veronica Desmond O.P, Sr Mary Raymunda Jordan O.P, Mr. Kevin McSharry, and Mrs. Anne O'Shea. The school is overseen by the local authority of Barnet, and the current headteacher is Mr. Anthony Ellul.
