Brownhill School, an all-through special school, is currently rated as requiring improvement in overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, and leadership and management. The school has made significant strides in enhancing its curriculum and creating a supportive environment for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Although the staff build strong relationships with students and focus on their personal development, academic achievement is not consistent, particularly in key stage 4 where the curriculum lacks ambition and breadth. The school is in the early stages of implementing a new curriculum, which has led to uneven learning outcomes across various subjects.
