Bury Church of England High School is currently evaluated as requiring improvement overall. Although this is the first inspection since it became an academy, the report highlights both positives and areas needing attention. Pupils generally enjoy their time at school, benefiting from a range of extra-curricular activities and demonstrating good behaviour and personal development. However, inconsistencies in the curriculum design and its delivery have led to variable academic achievement, particularly impacting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The school is working under the Bishop Fraser Trust, which has introduced several improvements, yet more effective strategies are needed to ensure all students can build on their knowledge effectively.
