Mobberley C of E Primary School is a village Church of England primary where pupils are happy, well cared for and highly positive about school life. Inspectors found exemplary behaviour, strong pastoral support and a broad, ambitious curriculum that starts with reading in Reception and supports pupils with SEND well. Pupils benefit from a wide personal development offer, including leadership roles, sport, clubs and links beyond the local area, and parents were overwhelmingly positive. The school is well led and governed, attendance is prioritised, and safeguarding arrangements are effective. This was its first routine inspection since the pandemic and its first section 5 inspection since 2012, when it was previously judged outstanding; under current arrangements no overall effectiveness grade was awarded. The main area for improvement is that some activities are not designed consistently enough to help all pupils learn in sufficient depth and build as rich a body of subject knowledge as they could.
