Court Moor School is a highly effective and inclusive secondary school. Inspectors found exceptional provision in inclusion and leadership/governance, with strong standards in achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, and personal development and wellbeing. Pupils are safe, happy and proud of their school, behave very well, and attend regularly; absence and persistent absence are well below national averages. Teaching is ambitious and consistent, GCSE results are consistently above national averages, and pupils with SEND or from disadvantaged backgrounds generally access the same rich curriculum through highly skilled learning coaches and tailored support. Safeguarding standards are met. The main concern is the achievement gap for disadvantaged pupils. Although disadvantaged pupils' progress has been broadly in line with national averages, their English and maths attainment at grade 5 or above fell sharply in 2024/25 and was well below national average, widening the disadvantage gap. The report asks leaders to sustain their transformational inclusion work and continue narrowing that gap. Contextually, the school is larger than average, has well below-average free school meals eligibility and location deprivation, and an above-average proportion of pupils with EHC plans. The headteacher took up post in October 2023.
