Mereworth Community Primary School continues to provide a good education for its pupils. The school has a vibrant and engaging atmosphere where pupils feel happy and eager to learn. Teachers have high expectations, and pupils generally perform well, with notable strengths in personal development, support for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and the promotion of positive relationships. There is a strong emphasis on ensuring that all students can catch up on missed learning, particularly after the disruptions caused by COVID-19. However, the school's mathematics program faces challenges, especially for some pupils in Years 3 to 5, who are taking longer to close gaps in their knowledge. Despite additional support being implemented, it has not yet effectively ensured that these students achieve the expected levels of understanding. Leaders are aware of this issue and are actively working to monitor and improve the situation, striving to ensure that all students develop a secure foundation in mathematics.
