Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is performing well, achieving a 'Good' rating overall in its recent inspection. The college excels in fostering positive learner behavior and attitudes, with notable strengths in personal development and adult learning programs, which are rated as 'Outstanding'. With approximately 1,200 young learners and 1,300 adult learners, BCoT offers a broad curriculum and has solid partnerships with local stakeholders to address emerging skills needs, effectively preparing students for future employment or further education. Despite these strengths, the inspection highlighted areas for improvement. Some learners, particularly those with high needs, do not receive adequate support in vocational lessons. Additionally, there is a need to enhance the quality of work placements and ensure all learners receive constructive feedback to improve their performance. Furthermore, pass rates in GCSE mathematics and functional skills for adult learners need significant attention to enable better outcomes.
