Collingwood College is a large standalone academy trust in Camberley, inspected in April 2026. Inspectors found the school meeting expectations in every evaluated area—achievement, attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, personal development and wellbeing, and post-16 provision—with safeguarding standards met. Pupils achieve broadly in line with national averages over time, attendance has improved to be in line with national averages, behaviour is calm and purposeful, and pupils feel safe, respected and well supported. The curriculum is ambitious and well sequenced, teaching is generally effective, SEND identification and inclusion are strong, and the personal development and careers programmes are notable strengths. The sixth form provides an inclusive and nurturing environment, and leaders have built positive relationships with staff, parents, external agencies and the community. The main area for further development is assessment. Although teachers check understanding well in lessons, assessment routines are not yet consistently embedded across the curriculum to help all pupils, especially disadvantaged pupils, deepen their understanding and achieve highly. Other minor points noted are that pupils' knowledge of fundamental British values and protected characteristics is less secure, and pupils still need to develop greater self-discipline and independence. Overall, leaders have a clear understanding of priorities, trustees provide effective challenge, and the college is on a trajectory of improvement.
