La Chouette School underwent a material change inspection commissioned by the Department for Education because it has applied to change its premises. Inspectors found that the school is likely to meet the relevant independent school standards if the material change is implemented. Leadership and management are effective: the headteacher, who is also the proprietor, is highly knowledgeable, and clear lines of accountability support consistent compliance. Safeguarding arrangements meet requirements, and the proprietor provides robust oversight. The proposed new premises are appropriate, safe and well maintained, with good resources, including designated spaces for physical activity and a library. Health, safety and fire arrangements are sound, with detailed risk assessments, regular checks, trained first aiders and suitable facilities. The school provides bilingual early years education for children aged two to six, and no concerns were identified in the inspected areas.
