Caythorpe Primary School has improved at pace since its previous inspection and is now performing well across all inspected areas. It is a warm, inclusive and caring school where pupils feel happy and safe, behaviour is strong and pastoral care is a notable feature. The trust provides effective support and governance, and staff are positive about leadership and the protection of their workload. The curriculum is ambitious and well sequenced, with particularly strong early reading and phonics, effective support for pupils with SEND, and a thoughtful personal development programme. Pupils benefit from a wide range of opportunities and a strong sense of community. Attendance has improved, and parents are extremely positive about the school. The main areas for further work are ensuring the curriculum is securely embedded in every subject and developing pupils’ oracy and confidence with subject vocabulary. In a few subjects, pupils’ knowledge and skills do not build as securely over time, and some pupils find it difficult to explain their learning in detail. Safeguarding is effective.
