The Cavendish School, situated at CB24 9LY on the outskirts of Cambridge, is a specialist provision that caters exclusively to autistic pupils. It opened its doors in August 2021 as Cambridgeshire's first state school for autism, serving students aged 7 to 14 (years 3 to 10). The school's mission is to enable-the-self by fostering a culture that celebrates neurodiversity and promotes the individual growth and confidence of its students.

The Cavendish School offers a safe and nurturing environment, where young people with autism can thrive and succeed academically and socially. Its curriculum and teaching methodology are designed to address the specific needs of each individual student, supported through dedicated programs and qualifications. The school aims to educate the whole child, balancing its academic curriculum with an understanding that supporting the student's emotional and social growth is crucial to their long-term well-being.

From inception, the school has worked in collaboration with the International Baccalaureate (IB) on a project devoted to inclusion, aspiring to become an outstanding and inspiring learning community that is inclusive, innovative, impactful, and international. The Cavendish School requests the support of local businesses and individuals to provide financial resources or classroom furniture and learning aids, as these contributions help to ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive and develop into independent, happy individuals within their local community.
