Ash Meadow School is an independent special school for pupils with autism, all of whom have an education, health and care plan. At the time of the inspection, 73 pupils were on roll. Safeguarding standards are met, and all independent school standards are met. Leaders have managed a recent expansion in pupil numbers and staff well, and the school has maintained a positive culture. Attendance and behaviour are strong: pupils who previously had very low attendance are successfully re-engaged, classrooms are purposeful, and pupils report few concerns about bullying or harassment. Personal development is also strong, with pupils developing a deep understanding of British values, engaging with the local community, and benefiting from high-quality preparation for adulthood and independent living.
