Oakridge Parochial School has been inspected for the first time since 2017 and continues to be recognized as a good school. The school fosters a nurturing community where pupils thrive, demonstrating positive attitudes towards learning and good behavior both in the classroom and around the school. The curriculum has been revamped to ensure comprehensive coverage and is well-sequenced, supported by effective training for teachers. Parents appreciate the individual attention provided to their children, contributing to the strong community spirit. Despite the many strengths, there are areas that need improvement. Assessment practices in subjects outside of English and mathematics are not yet fully developed, leading to some gaps in subject leaders’ understanding of pupil progress. Additionally, the learning provided in some subjects does not always build on prior knowledge effectively, which can limit pupil understanding and retention. Leaders are committed to addressing these issues to further enhance the education provided at the school.
