Reedness Primary School is a small, caring and close-knit primary school where pupils thrive. Staff know pupils well, pastoral care is strong and relationships are warm and respectful. Behaviour is typically very positive, attendance is high and pupils with SEND are well supported and achieve well in many subjects. The curriculum has been significantly revised since the previous inspection and is now broad, ambitious and clearly sequenced, with reading a particular priority. The school’s main areas for development are precision in teaching and early years provision. Staff do not consistently check what pupils already know and can do before choosing learning activities, which limits how well some pupils learn the curriculum. In the early years, activity choices and the outdoor learning environment do not consistently support children’s literacy and numeracy as well as they could. This was a graded inspection in July 2025; the school was previously judged good. Leaders, staff and governors are committed to improvement, and some newer governors have quickly developed an understanding of the school’s strengths and priorities. Enrichment opportunities are wide for a school of this size, and pupils are helped to become confident, independent and respectful citizens.

Admissions: local authority offers data from the Department for Education. A school is oversubscribed when at least 5% of the families who put it first were not offered a place, and undersubscribed when everyone who put it first got in but 10% or more of its places were unfilled in the Department's school capacity survey (the latest survey is used for entry years it does not cover). Places: Department for Education, School capacity, from local authorities' annual survey as at 1 May. Each year is the one the school year ends in (2025 is 2024–25); the survey was not run in 2020. Places include sixth form places. Forecasts are the local authority's own for the school's planning area, an area it uses to plan places that is not the school's catchment area. The forecast starts from a head count in 2025; the dashed line is the Department's estimate of places in that area, including those the authority has firm plans for. Planned places are cumulative, and only those with firm plans are counted.
