South Nottinghamshire Academy continues to perform well as a good school, demonstrating a positive learning environment where students feel safe and are encouraged to excel through a range of leadership opportunities. The commitment to the 'SNA Way' fosters respect and kindness among pupils, contributing to strong relationships between staff and students. The curriculum ensures that most students achieve highly, particularly in English and mathematics, and there is effective support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). However, there are areas for improvement, particularly regarding the depth of knowledge in subjects not chosen for deeper study by students in Year 9. Leaders have recognized the need to ensure sufficient curriculum time for these subjects to enhance overall understanding. Additionally, while teachers have been trained in effective teaching practices, full implementation and purposeful engagement in recall activities are not consistently observed, impacting the effectiveness of knowledge retention.
