Barton Junior School continues to maintain its status as a good school, emphasizing a warm and supportive environment where pupils feel a strong sense of belonging. With an ambitious curriculum enriched by a variety of extracurricular activities, students are encouraged to engage deeply with their learning, foster resilience, and develop a love for reading. The school's strong leadership under the guidance of its headteacher and the Samphire Star Education Trust has been pivotal in facilitating the academic and personal growth of students, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). However, the school faces challenges in ensuring that all pupils receive the necessary support to develop reading fluency and that curriculum checks are consistently applied across all subjects. This ungraded inspection marks the first evaluation since 2018 and considers the impact of recent educational disruptions caused by the pandemic.
