The school is a highly nurturing and inclusive primary where staff are deeply committed to pupils, families and the community. Pastoral support is strong, pupils are happy and safe, and pupils with SEND, including those in the resourced provision, are supported particularly well. Behaviour is generally positive and the school is calm and orderly; personal development and early years provision are strengths, with a wide range of experiences and effective early language and mathematics learning. However, the quality of education is not yet consistently strong. In some subjects, leaders have not precisely identified the component knowledge pupils should learn, so pupils do not build the depth of knowledge they should and teachers cannot reliably check what has been learned. Early writing is also underdeveloped, with too many pupils forming letters incorrectly and not becoming fluent writers. Attendance and punctuality remain significant concerns. Too many pupils miss school or arrive late, which leaves gaps in their learning, and the school's current actions have not been sufficiently effective in tackling this. Leadership, trust support and safeguarding are strong, and the school has a clear focus on improvement, including work that has reduced suspensions.
