Ark Priory Primary Academy is a highly successful, inclusive primary school where pupils achieve exceptionally well and behave impeccably. Inspectors found a broad, ambitious curriculum built carefully from Reception to Year 6, strong teaching, and attainment well above national averages in reading, writing and mathematics. Reading and early years provision are particular strengths, and pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified quickly and supported extremely well. The school's personal development and behaviour are exemplary: pupils are polite, respectful, motivated and involved in their community, and safeguarding arrangements are effective. Leadership is strong, staff workload is managed well, and governors and the Ark Schools trust provide rigorous support and challenge. This was the school's first routine inspection since the pandemic and first section 5 inspection since 2015; under the current framework it received no overall effectiveness grade, but all key judgements were outstanding and no areas for improvement were identified.
