In some subjects, assessment does not give the school a secure overview of how well pupils are learning key knowledge over time, so gaps can remain and pupils do not always connect prior learning to new content. Support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is not always adapted precisely enough, which means some of these pupils do not make as much progress as they could.
