Mayfield Primary School is currently rated as 'Requires Improvement' overall, following its first inspection since the COVID-19 pandemic. While students enjoy a positive school environment, where they form strong friendships and participate in a range of extracurricular activities, the school's educational delivery has not fully met expectations. Although the early years provision is effective and children develop essential skills, inconsistencies in curriculum delivery have left some pupils struggling academically, particularly in their reading skills. Additionally, the identification and support of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) require enhancement to ensure that all students can succeed.
