Embleton View is a small independent special school for pupils with education, health and care plans, operating across four sites and run by Ald Group Ltd. The June 2026 inspection found a school with a calm, caring and highly inclusive culture where pupils who have often experienced disrupted education are well supported to re-engage and thrive. Attendance and behaviour, inclusion, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing are particular strengths. Safeguarding standards are met, and all independent school standards are met. Leaders know pupils extremely well and provide meticulous therapeutic, pastoral and academic support. Staff are described as well trained and valued, and relationships with families and external professionals are positive. Governance provides effective oversight, and the school has a clear, strategic approach to improvement as it expands. Achievement and curriculum/teaching are solid overall. Leaders have already introduced handwriting interventions and should ensure teachers receive training to teach foundational writing consistently and that curriculum planning is consistent across all subjects.
