Rose Hill Primary is now a good school across all inspected areas, having previously been judged to require improvement. Inspectors found warm and respectful relationships, pupils who learn well and behave as expected, and a curriculum that is carefully designed and well taught by staff with strong subject knowledge. The school is particularly effective in supporting pupils with SEND, teaching phonics and reading, supporting pupils who join with little or no English, improving attendance, and providing a nurturing early years provision. The personal development programme and strategic support from the trust and local governing body are also notable strengths. The main areas for improvement relate to depth of learning. In some subjects, pupils do not consistently get enough opportunity to practise and apply new knowledge, which limits how deeply they develop their understanding. In mathematics, learning activities are occasionally not adapted carefully enough to let pupils explore more complex or detailed knowledge. Published 2024 outcomes do not reflect the current quality of education, and older pupils’ remaining mathematical gaps are being addressed effectively. The school is part of the Oxlip Learning Partnership multi-academy trust, which was formed in September 2024 after a merger. It has a significant number of pupils joining and leaving outside usual times. Safeguarding arrangements are effective.
