Roding Valley High School, situated at Alderton Hill, Loughton, Essex, IG10 3JA, is a highly regarded and successful 11 to 18 secondary institution that caters to both boys and girls. The school was established in September 1989 through a merger of three local schools, including Loughton County High School for Girls, Buckhurst Hill County High School, and Epping Forest High School. With over 1,200 students, the school has a strong presence within the local community, held in high esteem for its academic excellence.

At Roding Valley, the ethos is centered around "Aspiration, Respect, and Endeavour," as students are encouraged to strive for their best, show mutual respect, and work with determination. With a dedicated staff of over 180 music teachers delivering weekly individual lessons, the school places emphasis on the arts. The school received an Outstanding Features rating in its latest Ofsted report and is listed as Good overall. Since September 2015, Roding Valley has also offered education to 16-18-year-olds through the Epping Forest Sixth Form.

Previously a community school, in June 2018 Roding Valley High School converted to academy status, now sponsored by The Chelmsford Learning Partnership. The current Head of School is Sharon Jenner, with Paul Banks as Executive Head. Despite challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as undertaking pupil learning remotely, Roding Valley High School has continued its work with student success and well-being.
