Beis Chinuch Lebonos Westcliff is an independent Orthodox Jewish school that was registered in September 2023. Following a standard inspection in February 2026, the school meets the independent school standards and safeguarding requirements. Overall provision is secure: pupils are happy, safe and well cared for, achievement is steady across a well-sequenced curriculum, and pupils with SEND are identified and supported effectively. Early years is a particular strength, with strong routines, vocabulary development and phonics preparation. Leaders have a clear vision, staff are well trained, and pupils’ personal development is strong. Attendance is prioritised and pupils behave well in the main, with warm relationships and clear routines. However, some practice is not consistently applied. Behaviour expectations are not always followed during unstructured times, and a few staff do not use the school’s behaviour strategies consistently. In lessons, staff sometimes move on too quickly before pupils have had enough time to practise new content. The school’s monitoring of learning outcomes and use of assessment information are not yet fully consistent, which can delay or reduce the impact of extra support. The next steps are to make monitoring of learning outcomes more robust so additional support is timely and effective, and to implement the whole-school behaviour approach consistently, including monitoring behaviour to provide timely support. These are refinements rather than serious concerns, and the school is well placed to address them.
