Greasby Junior School demonstrates a strong standard of education and personal development for its pupils, excelling particularly in safeguarding and fostering an open, supportive culture. The curriculum is well-organized, enabling students to make connections across subjects, and there is a strong emphasis on personal development that prepares pupils for future challenges. The school is committed to supporting vulnerable students, with leaders effectively identifying and addressing their needs. However, there are areas for improvement in the delivery of the writing curriculum and in ensuring consistent academic progress for all pupils, especially those with special educational needs and those who are disadvantaged. While attendance is generally above national averages, there are still gaps among disadvantaged pupils that require attention. The leadership team is aware of the need for rigorous monitoring of vulnerable groups and is focused on enhancing teaching consistency to close knowledge gaps more effectively. This is the school’s first inspection since joining the Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust in January 2023, highlighting its transition and development under new governance.
